Prepare for your driving test
Many candidates aren’t sure where to start their preparation. The step-by-step plan below helps you along, from looking up your exam centre to your last practice session right before the test.
Step-by-step plan
1. Look up your exam centre
Check where your practical test actually takes place and see which practice routes and manoeuvring areas are nearby.
2. Practise the area around your exam centre
Drive the practice routes together with your driving instructor or a supervisor, at different times of day, so you also experience rush hour and busy traffic.
3. Repeat the special manoeuvres
Practise manoeuvres like reverse parking and reversing around a corner at a manoeuvring area until they become automatic.
4. Combine with enough driving lessons
Make sure you also take enough lessons at a licensed driving school alongside practising on your own, so theory and practice come together.
5. Stay alert to current traffic situations
Roadworks and diversions can change a route. So always pay attention to the actual traffic signs on site, even on a route you already know.
